By Bureau Report

HYDERABAD, Nov 28: A member of the Al-Khidmat group of the Hyderabad District Council, Rana Mehmood Ali Khan, has lashed out at the authorities concerned for using sub-standard material in construction of roads in Hyderabad , Latifabad and Qasimabad talukas.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, he said millions of rupees were going down the drain. He said the district council had adopted many resolutions against the use of sub-standard material in development schemes but there was no one to check corrupt practices of the officials concerned.

He demanded that the authorities should take a notice of the matter and order a high-level inquiry into the corrupt practices.

ANP: The district chapter of the Awami National Party at a meeting held here on Saturday decided to take part in the ensuing local bodies' elections. Speaking on the occasion, the party's central committee member, Aurangzeb Yousufzai, accused the Sindh government and its agencies of victimizing Pakhtoons.
