Talks on power plant dispute begin
By Our Staff Reporter
LAHORE, Nov 27: An Indian delegation began on Saturday talks with their Pakistani counterparts on the Kishna Ganga Hydro-power Project.
Pakistan had expressed reservations about the diversion plan and design of the project being built on the river Jhelum in Indian-held Kashmir and sought a special meeting to resolve the issue.
Indus River Commissioner Syed Jammat Ali Shah is leading the Pakistani side while Commissioner D K Mehta is the head of the four-member Indian delegation.
An Indus River System Authority official told Dawn the talks, being held under the Indus Water Basin Treaty, were likely to conclude on Monday.
