Govt won't abandon mega-projects: Jam

QUETTA, Nov 27: Saboteurs' designs will be frustrated with people's support, says Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Mohammad Yousuf.
He was talking to delegations of tribesmen, PML and journalists in Khuzdar on Saturday.
The chief minister condemned the bomb blast in which a man was killed and 21 others were injured and said that the main objective of elements involved in subversive activities was to create law and order problem to obstruct the development programme in Balochistan.
Jam Yousuf said that terrorists should know that they could neither pressurize the government nor frighten the people.
Jam Yousuf said that people were aware that ongoing major development projects were launched for the welfare of the masses, adding that people would never tolerate obstruction in the completion of these schemes.
Chief Minister urged the people to keep vigilant against saboteurs and said that they (the people) should also cooperate with the government to improve the law and order situation. He also called for people's cooperation for eliminating terrorists.
He condemned the loss of innocent civilian lives in bomb blasts and rocket attacks and said that foreign involvement could not be ruled out, adding that local elements were being used in the subversive acts for financial gains. He said that the government had taken appropriate measures to deal with terrorists, adding that when government adopted tight security measures, then these elements "request" for relaxation.
Earlier, chief minister presided over a meeting on the law and order situation in Khuzdar that was also attended by district nazim Sardar Aslam Bizenjo and other local government officials.
Jam Yousuf urged the local administration to make an all out effort to apprehend saboteurs responsible for planting the bomb in Khuzdar.
Jam Yousuf also visited the Civil Hospital to inquire about the health of the bomb blast victims and announced Rs300,000 for the seriously injured and Rs50,000 for other victims. He also called for providing medicines worth Rs2.5 million for the hospital.
