NAROWAL, Nov 27: A speeding luxury bus crushed a student and injured four others on Saturday morning at Dongian Morr on the Narowal-Sialkot road.

Eyewitnessed said about two dozen students and other people were waiting at the bus stop for some conveyance. In the meantime, a bus stopped there and they were riding it. A car was also waiting for its way behind the bus when the luxury bus came from behind and ran over the students after hitting the car. Majid, a student of Narowal Degree College and resident of Qila Ahmadabad, died on the spot while his fellows Ashraf, Saeed and Mazhar Iqbal and the car driver sustained serious injuries.

The driver escaped from the scene along with his vehicle.

Later, the students took out a protest rally and blocked the Circular Road for some time. They demanded immediate arrest of the driver.

HOUSE ROBBERY: Three robbers took away gold and cash from the house of leather merchant Ghulam Ghaus at Usmania locality here on Friday night.

The victim told police that the robbers entered his house by scaling the boundary wall and took the family at gunpoint. They took away 32 tolas of gold ornaments and Rs110,000 in cash.
