Iran offers ferry service

ISLAMABAD, Nov 25: Iran is ready to launch a ferry service from Chahbahar to Gwadar and Karachi, Sistan-Balochistan Governor Hussain Amini has said.

During his visit to the local chamber of commerce and industry, he said the Iran government would extend full cooperation for beginning the service, a television channel reported.

He said markets had been established in border areas of Iran to curb smuggling and a similar move in could eliminate the menace. He said Pakistan could use Iran as a transit route for access to Europe, for which the government in his country was building a railway track, he added. -APP
