SWABI, Nov 25: The family of Ihsan Ali, who allegedly raped a minor girl, was threatened by locals on Thursday to immediately leave their native village Shah mansoor.
They have been told that they would be expelled from the village if they don't leave it, the locals said.
The seven-year old girl was raped and killed 13 days ago allegedly by Ihsan Ali, 22. Police found her body hidden in the fields and handed it over to their parents for burial.
The minor girl went missing on Nov 12, 2004, and was found dead on Nov 17, 2004. According to the police, Ihsan Ali of the same village had confessed to the crime. Local people are in great anger and say the best option for the family is to leave the village without any delay.
They said these people would not be allowed to live in the village. "Due to Ihsan's inhuman act, his family could not remain in the village as people could nor bear them," said one of the villagers.
Meanwhile, leaders of various political parties and union council nazims have met the father of the girl and assured him of exemplary punishment to the culprit. District Nazim Jehan Zeb Khan has given a Rs4,000 cheque to the father, Khan Wali. NWFP Education Minister Maulana Fazle Ali had earlier given him a Rs 20,000 cheque.
The minister also declared that Khan Wali would be given a class IV job in the government high school of Shah mansoor. The lawyer community also declared to fight the case free of cost.
Leaders of the Jamait Ulema Islam (JUI-F) and JUI-S, Awami National Party, PPP Parliamentarians, PPP-Sherpao, all factions of the Muslim League and union council nazims have assured the bereaved family of all possible help.
