PESHAWAR: Australian judge visits judicial complex

PESHAWAR, Nov 25: A judge of the Federal Court of Australia, Justice Catherine Margaret Branson, visited the Peshawar Judicial Complex on Thursday and delivered a lecture on 'Principles of Court and Case Management' to the judicial officers.
According to a press release, Justice Branson gave a brief overview of case and court management in Australia and its effectiveness in service delivery to litigant public, delay and cost reduction in court processes.
The Peshawar District and Sessions Judge, Hayat Ali Shah, speaking on the occasion, gave a brief introduction of the district judiciary. Earlier, Justice Branson called on the Peshawar High Court Chief Justice, Nasirul Mulk, at his chamber and shared with him the Australian experience in commercial disputes resolution.
Justice Catherine Margaret Branson is on a month's tour to Pakistan which has been arranged by the Asian Development Bank. The bank has been funding the Access to Justice Programme in Pakistan.
