NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: 27 protesters booked

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Nov 25: The Kandiaro police registered a case against 27 villagers on Thursday who had taken out a procession to protest against the electrocution of a man, Abdul Rasheed.

Those booked include Anwar, Allah Wadhayo, Ghulam Qadir, Gulsher, Atta Muhammad, Khalid, Haji Dawood, Muhammad Amir and Mohammad Saleh. Rasheed, 32, was connecting wire on a pole when he received electric shock. He fell and died instantly.

Hesco had disconnected the supply of power to the village due to non-payment of bills. Rasheed and other villagers were trying to restore the power when the incident happened.

PPP RALLY: A large number of workers of the People's Party Parliamentarians took out a procession in Kandiaro on Thursday to celebrate release of Asif Ali Zardari.

Led by PPP district president Malhar Khan Rajpar and Kandiaro Taluka Nazim Syed Abrar Shah, the procession began from Syed Mohalla and culminated at Star Chowk where the participants danced on the beat of drums. They were raising slogans of "Asif Zindabad", "Prime Minister Benazir" and "Jeay Bhutto." They called upon the government to allow Benazir Bhutto to return home.
