Six killed in Kashmir


SRINAGAR, Nov 24: Suspected Mujahideen shot dead three people and wounded 20 others in two grenade attacks in occupied Kashmir, while Indian troops shot dead three freedom fighters, police said on Wednesday.

The attacks came on the final day of a two-day visit by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz to New Delhi where he pledged to continue peace talks with India on Kashmir dispute.

A police spokesman said freedom fighters killed three people, including a former militant and his brother in-law near Kokernag health resort, 70 kilometers from Srinagar and shot dead a village head in Rajouri district.

Indian troops shot dead three Mujahideen in the district of Doda during two separate clashes, police said. Police said 17 civilians were wounded on Wednesday evening in a grenade explosion triggered by Mujahideen in Jammu. -AFP
