Sweden wants to expand trade ties with Pakistan

By Our Reporter

LAHORE, Nov 23: The leader of the visiting Swedish delegation has said his country wanted to expand the trade relations with Pakistan.

Jan Palmstierna told Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Mian Misbahur Rehman and other office-bearers during a visit on Tuesday that Swedish expertise and resources had played a significant role in the development of the markets of the countries with which it had trade relations.

He said Swedish companies not only invested in the countries they were dealing with but also transferred technology leading to the development of the local industry.

Sweden was not only interested in increasing exports to the Asian countries but encouraged imports as well by pursuing a liberal trade policy.

Mian Misbah invited the Swedish businessmen to take advantage of the business friendly policies of the Pakistan government and expand the bilateral trade.
