PESHAWAR, Nov 21: Pakistan Muslim League-N has said people will not tolerate the present regime any more as their purchasing power has eroded over the past five years.

Speaking to newsmen on Saturday, the PML-N provincial chief, Pir Sabir Shah, said that a mass mobilization campaign of the Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy would prove to be the last nail in the coffin of the regime.

He said that the people of Peshawar had always struggled for restoration of democracy and that was why the ARD had decided to start its movement against the regime from this historic city.

"The days of the regime are numbered," Mr Shah said. He was hopeful that a large number of workers of the PPP, the PML-N and other democratic forces would come to Peshawar to make the December 6 rally a success.

The PML provincial chief also criticized what he described the government's 'U-turn' on the Kashmir issue, saying that sacrifices of the freedom fighters were being ignored.

He said that the Indian leadership had rejected President Musharraf's peace formula, and New Delhi had declared the valley to be its integral part. Pir Sabir Shah said that India had adopted an aggressive policy regarding the Kashmir issue and despite cease fire barbed wire was being erected along the Line of Control.
