Politicians urged to oppose dam project

NAWABSHAH, Nov 21: Sindh is passing through a critical phase because there is an acute shortage of water and the rulers are talking about construction of the Kalabagh dam.

This was stated by former MNA Hakim Ali Zardari who was speaking on the occasion of Chehlum of Syed Imdad Shah in Majeed Keerio village, Sakrand taluka, on Sunday. He said three provincial assemblies had rejected the construction of Kalabagh dam, yet the rulers had not abandoned its idea.

He warned politicians of Sindh not to support the construction of the dam and said, they would be considered traitors and enemies of Sindh if they did not oppose the project.

MNA Mujeeb Pirzado said that the day of construction of Kalabagh dam would be considered the day of declaration of war on Sindh. Earlier, the Dastarbandi of Syed Jalal Mehmood Shah, the elder son of Imdad Mohammad Shah was held.

Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz chairman Bashir Qureshi, STPP chairman Qadir Magsi, SNF leader Gul Mohammad Jakhrani, MNA Bashir Shah, Muneer Shah and others attended the ceremony.
