HYDERABAD: Paramedics warn of protest
By Bureau Report
HYDERABAD, Nov 21: The Sindh Paramedical Staff Association has threatened to resume its protest march on the issue of service structure which was called off in September on an assurance of the health secretary
that the service structure of the paramedical staff would be approved in 12 days.
Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Sunday, the association's president, Niaz Hussain Bhutto, general-secretary Parshutam, joint secretary Mehmood Ali Chandio and other office-bearers said every department had framed service structure for its employees but the paramedical staff were being discriminated against.
They said this was the only public service where an employee retired in the same grade in which he had been appointed. They explained that there were nine grades of paramedical staff but if an employee was appointed in grade-1 or grade-9 there was no chance of his promotion and he would retire in the same grade after completing his service.
