HYDERABAD: 10 selected for fellowship

HYDERABAD, Nov 19: On the recommendations of the Higher Training Scholarship Committee, under the urgent need basis project, Vice Chancellor of the University of Sindh Mazharul Haq Siddiqui has approved post-doctoral fellowship for 10 faculty members of different institutes and departments of the university.

This was announced by Mohammad Hussain Shaikh, director of planning and development section of the university, on Friday.

The committee has recommended the names of Professor Dr Mehtab Ali Shah and Dr Azra S. Kandhar, department of International Relations, Professor Dr Anwar Ali Shah G. Syed, dean, faculty of Commerce and Business Administration, Professor Dr Abdul Rasool Abbasi, department of Freshwater Biology and Fisheries, Professor Dr Mohammad Saleem Chandio, Institute of Mathematics and Computer Sciences, Professor Dr Mohammad Aslam Memon, Dr M.A. Kazi Institute of Chemistry, Dr Sher Mohammad Mangrio, Associate Professor, Department of Botany, Dr Ghulam Qadir Khaskheli, Associate Professor, Dr M.A. Kazi Institute of Chemistry, Dr Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, Assistant Professor, Institute of Biochemistry, and Dr Mohammad Qasim Bughio, Professor of Sindhi Department (deputed with the Sindhi Language Authority) with the condition that he will join the university.

The committee has also recommended revival of post-doctoral fellowship awarded to Dr S.M. Leghari, Professor, department of Freshwater Biology and Fisheries, and Dr Nasreen Memon, Associate Professor, department of Zoology, who could not avail the facility due to unavoidable circumstances.
