KARACHI: Three SIs, 5 constables suspended

KARACHI, Nov 19: Eight policemen were put under suspension on Friday for negligence in duty. Three sub-inspectors and five constables were put under suspension by the SITE TPO.

According to reports, two suspects, escorted by police constables, were being taken to courts for obtaining their remand when they managed to flee. Though the two suspects were re arrested, the inquiry officer of the case SI Ghulam Mustafa instead of escorting the two suspects himself had handed them over to constables.

The SITE Town Police Officer Imran Shaukat also suspended the SHO Pirabad SI Dilip Kumar and SI Khalid for their part of negligence. Meanwhile, SHO Pak Colony Shahzada Saleem was suspended by the TPO. The SHO had allegedly released dacoits after taking bribe, the TPO said.

ACCIDENTS: Two men died in separate accidents on Friday. Allah Wasayo, 55, was crossing over tracks near Landhi railway station when he got crushed beneath the locomotive. Police said Ghulam Husain, 40, was knocked down to death by a speeding vehicle on the National Highway.
