BD commerce minister due on 24th

KARACHI, Nov 19: The commerce minister of Bangladesh will visit Pakistan on November 24 to further boost economic and trade ties between the two countries. He will also visit Karachi and hold meetings with the local business community.

This was stated by Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh Abdul Hannan during a meeting with office-bearers and members of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry here on Friday.

On the suggestion of KCCI President Khalid Firoz for expanding bilateral economic activities, Mr Hannan pointed out possibilities of mutual cooperation in various fields such as textiles, pharmaceuticals, heavy and light engineering, etc.

Mr Hannan suggests that a KCCI delegation can visit Bangladesh to explore new avenues of cooperation. He also assured the business community of providing all possible help and assistance in this regard.

Khalid Firoz said that Pakistani business communities wanted to reinforce trade relations with Bangladesh through joint ventures and other mutually benefiting economic cooperation. -APP
