SUKKUR, Nov 18: The district coordination officer of Sukkur, Abdul Qadir Mangi, took a serious notice on Thursday of the leasing of a 75-acre plot at the Sukkur bypass to one Haji Mohammad Khan Leghari, resident of Daharki.

The plot was originally allocated by Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim and health adviser Faisal Malik for a medical college.

The DCO issued a letter on Thursday to senior authorities of the Auqaf Department in which he asked them under whose authority the department had leased the plot to Haji Mohammad Khan Leghari.

He said the matter had been brought to the notice of Sindh chief minister, who also expressed his annoyance over the allotment.

On the demand of the people of Sukkur, the Sindh chief minister and health adviser had visited this plot some 15 days back.

They had addressed a press conference in which they told journalists that the demand of the people had been met, and the construction of a building for the medical college on this plot would be started soon.

It was reported that upon hearing this announcement senior officials of the Auqaf Department allegedly leased this plot for three years to Haji Mohammad Khan Leghari.

FREE MEDICAL CAMP ORGANIZED: The Rehman Foundation organized a free medical camp for the treatment and consultation of kidney patients here on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, District Naib Nazim Iqbal Dawood lauded the efforts of the foundation for the welfare of poor kidney patients of the area and announced for extending his full cooperation from the district government in this noble cause.

A noted kidney specialist Dr. Waqas Niaz, on the occasionannounced that free consultation and treatment of poor and needy patients of surrounding areas would be provided by adopting modern methods including homeopathic, herbal, balanced nutrition/diet and spiritual means.

Kidney patients of the area largely attended the camp.
