DADU, Nov 17: Thousands of acres of farmland have been left uncultivated in Sindh due to water shortage and poor people pushed to suicide by financial pressure. This was stated by People's Party Parliamentarians MPA Marvi Mazharul Haq while talking to newsmen at her residence here on Tuesday.
She said that the Kalabagh dam and Greater Thal canal were most dangerous for agriculture of Sindh. She alleged that ministers were involved in corruption cases, they were not working in public interest and were minting money.
Meanwhile, former federal minister Zafar Ali Leghari has said that 400,000 employees of public sector organizations have been sacked in the name of downsizing by the government.
He was talking to newsmen at his residence in Khairpur Nathan Shah on Tuesday. Criticizing government policies, he said that to maintain pressure on the PPP, the government was not releasing Asif Ali Zardari and other party leaders.
MPAs: President Gen Pervez Musharraf has improved the image of Pakistan in the world by adopting good policies. This was stated by Pakistan Muslim League MPAs Ihsan Ali Jatoi and Sadaqat Ali Jatoi while talking to newsmen in Betto Jatoi on Tuesday. They said that with the efforts of the president, mega development projects had been initiated in remote areas of country.
