'Terrorism to be eliminated'

PESHAWAR, Nov 16: Corps Commander Lt-Gen Safdar Hussain has reiterated government's resolve to root out terrorism, saying that the military offensive will continue till all terrorists are flushed out from tribal areas.
He was speaking to troops in the South and North Waziristan agencies where he celebrated Eid on Sunday, said an ISPR press release here on Tuesday.
The corps commander cancelled all official and non-official functions to celebrate Eid with the troops.
He performed Eid prayers at Ziari Noor military camp in Wana and offered collective pray for the peace, stability and solidarity of the country.
Congratulating troops on this occasion, Lt-Gen Safdar Hussain said that defending frontiers of the motherland required numerous sacrifices from every soldier.
He said the soldier led a unique simple life to provide a sense of absolute security to his fellow countrymen.
This trait distinguished his (soldier) sacred and noble career from the rest of professions, he added.
He paid tributes to all ranks of the Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps for serving in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) with devotion and undaunted dedication. He commended the high morale of the troops who were braving harsh weather conditions and difficult terrain with courage.
Later, the corps commander, with General Officer Commanding Maj-Gen Niaz Khattak, visited various positions manned by officers and jawans of the army and FC and exchanged Eid greetings with them.
