KARACHI: Utilities asked to improve services

KARACHI, Nov 16: The Sindh Chief Secretary, Mohammed Aslam Sanjrani has asked the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board to ensure supply of quality water to citizens.

He also ordered for maintenance and repair of water supply and sewerage lines in accordance with standard specifications of the KWSB, official sources said on Tuesday.

Mr Sanjrani issued these directives during a meeting with government officials who called on him at his official residence on the eve of Eidul Fitr.

A large number of prominent citizens from various sections of society drew his attention towards the issues of water supply and sewerage in various areas of the city, especially towards the leakage of water and sewerage lines, which damage roads besides creating sanitation and health problems.

They also pointed out the frequent breakdowns and low voltage of electricity in the city.

Mr Sanjrani advised the KWSB and KESC authorities to redress public complaints and chalk out a concrete line of action to enable people to meet their requirements. - APP
