KASUR: Seven perish, 40 injured in accident

KASUR, Nov 16: Seven people, including two women and two children, were killed and 40 others injured in a collision between a wagon and a coaster at Ghumankey Bypass, Phoolnagar, on Tuesday.

A coaster was going to Multan from Lahore. Near Ghumankey Bypass, a speedy wagon coming from the opposite side collided with it. Jamal Din, Imran, Siraj Din, Habiba Bibi, Sharifan Bibi, Ali (6) and Raza (4) died on the spot, while 40 others sustained injuries. The injured were taken to the local hospitals from where Razzaq, Sardar Ali, Ghulam Rasool, Mahmood Ahmad, Razia Bibi, Hanifan Bibi, Shoaib (6), Qasim (9) and Hamidan Bibi were referred to the Jinnah Hospital, Lahore, for their critical condition.

THREE KILLED: Three people were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents here on Tuesday.

Pervaiz along with his friend, Sharif, was coming to Kasur on a motorcycle when a wagon hit them near Ganda Singhwala stop. Pervaiz died instantly while Sharif sustained injuries and was taken to hospital.

Farooq and Masood were going on a motorcycle when a tractor-trolley hit them near the Brother Sugar Mills, Chunian. Farooq died on the spot, while Masood sustained wounds and was taken to the THQ Hospital, Chunian.

In Shamkot village, Kanganpur, Maqsood was run over by a bus while crossing the road.

Three murdered: Three people were murdered in the district during the last two days.

A man was shot dead by three people over suspicion in Thai Saharan village, Raja Jang.

Police said Shamshad was present in the village bazaar when Iftikhar along with two accomplices came and forced him to leave the village. On refusal, Iftikhar shot him dead and escaped.

It is reported that Shamshad had relations with the sister of Iftikhar.

Raja Jang police have registered a case and are investigating.

Latif murdered his brother, Mushtaq, over a domestic dispute in Sanda Kalan village, Khuddian.

Khuddian police are investigating.

In Budha Singh village, three brothers axed to death a man over a money dispute.

Rafiq was present in his shop when Abid along with two brothers came and opened fire on him, killing him on the spot.

Saddar police have registered a case.

Alima, 7, was crossing the road when a wagon hit and killed her in Ward No 2, Raja Jang.

In Jambar, Phoolnagar, Mohammad Sharif, was crushed to death by a wagon.
