ISLAMABAD, Nov 13: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has directed Minister of State for Interior Dr Wasim Shahzad to further improve and expand the civic facilities to make Islamabad a model city.
The prime minister was talking to him here on Saturday. They discussed matters pertaining to development of the federal capital area with particular reference for the improvement in the civic facilities.
Minister of State for Tourism Sumaira Malik also called on the prime minister and exchanged views on exploiting the country's true potential in the field of tourism.
During the meeting, the prime minister underlined the need to project the country's cultural heritage abroad with a view to attract tourists inflow and earn greater amount of foreign exchange.
The minister, who had returned recently from Malaysia after attending the tourism moot there, informed the prime minister that the Malaysian minister for tourism was scheduled to visit the country in December this year. She hoped that soon a large number of people from Malaysia would be visiting Pakistan as a result of these exchanges.
MNA Riaz Hussain Pirzada also met the prime minister at the Prime Minister's House and discussed matters related to development of the areas in his constituency. The prime minister said the government was keen to complete the development schemes on time without compromising on quality of work.
MUSHAHID MEETS PM: Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, the head of the Parliamentary Committee on Balochistan, called on Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz at the PM House on Saturday.
In his meeting, the Senator briefed the prime minister on progress made on various issues during his recent visit to Balochistan during which he met the prominent Baloch tribal, local and political leaders as well as on the general political situation in the province.
The prime minister said the government was releasing funds to the members of parliament for the timely completion of development projects in their constituencies which would lead to improve the living standards of the masses and expedite the development projects.
