Bush greets Pakistanis on Eid

ISLAMABAD, Nov 13: United States President George W. Bush has greeted the Pakistani nation on Eidul Fitr and assured it of his continued commitment to make the world more prosperous and free from terror.

In his messages to President Gen Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Mr Bush extended "heartfelt greetings" to them and the Pakistani people on the occasion. "This past year, Pakistan has worked closely with the US to make our world a more peaceful place, free from terror and violence," he said in his message to the president.

In a message to the prime minister, President Bush said both countries had faced challenges and worked to build a prosperous world, with economic and educational opportunities for all.

"As you celebrate today, please be assured of our continued commitment to that common purpose," he said. He said he wished "Eid Mubarak", peace, prosperity and success for all Pakistanis. -APP
