DHAKA, Nov 11: The Indian Border Security Force shot dead a Bangladeshi labourer and injured three others along the Jaflong border in Sylhet on Thursday.
The victim, Abdul Majid, 40, was collecting stones in Bangladesh near the no-man's land with other workers, witnesses and police said.
Tension was prevailing in the border area, which led to suspension of stone collection and import of coal through the Tamabeel port. The Bangladesh Rifles has sent a letter of protest to its Indian counterpart.
