KARACHI, Nov 11: Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) on Thursday announced three pugilists for the inaugural World Universities boxing championship to be held from Nov 23 to 29 in Antalia, Turkey.

"We have selected three boys including Olympian Asghar Ali Shah in 64kg, Qarrar Hussain in 57kg and Jibran Qambrani in 54kg for the championship," PBF chairman Anwar Chowdhry said.

A PBF official said Asghar was capable of winning a medal at the championship, while Qarrar a cousin of Asghar, who competed in world junior championships had also potential.

He said boxers had been selected after one-day camp on Nov 9 at National Sports Training and Coaching Centre which was participated by 11 boxers.
