Nawaz snatches hat trick

LAHORE, Nov 11: A hat trick by pacer Nawaz Sardar, who finished with six for 62, helped Sialkot earn a 58-run lead on first innings against Karachi in PCB Inter-region Under-19 cricket tournament at Sheikhupura Stadium on Thursday.

Nawaz sent down 28 overs, included seven maiden, as Karachi were all out for 219 in 73 overs while replying to Sialkot first innings total of 277.

The last five batsmen could add only 22 runs with four wickets fell at the total of 219 due to Nawaz's hat trick. Off-spinner Salman Ali took four remaining wickets for 63.

By the stumps Sialkot were 13 for one in second innings.

Big lead FOR LAHORE

Propelled by three half centuries Lahore earned a big 153-run lead on first innings against Quetta in PCB Inter-region U-19 cricket tournament at Country's Club Muridke on Thursday.

Jahangir Mirza (62), Abid Ali (54) and Adnan Raza (50) played well as Lahore pile up 345 for eight in 83 overs after resuming at 34 without loss, in reply of Quetta's first innings total of 192.

Jahangir slammed six fours and one towering six off 97 balls. Adnan Raza cracked five boundaries in his 95-ball innings while, Abid hammered eight fours off 90-ball knock.

Quetta were 32 for one in second innings when the stumps for the day were drawn.
