By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Nov 11: Commerce Minister Humayun Akhtar Khan has said efforts are underway to expand the export processing zones to increase Pakistan's share in the international trade.

He was talking to a delegation of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) led by its President Tariq Sadiq on Thursday.

Mr Khan said Pakistan's business policies were conducive to foreign investment. He said our exports are showing upswing and efforts are underway to establish a textile city, Sunder Industrial Estate, Punjab, besides expanding the export processing zones.

These developments, he added, would boost industrial activity in the country.

He supported the delegation's proposal for establishment of an industrial zone in Islamabad, which would attract new investment and accelerate industrialization.
