By Our Reporter
ISLAMABAD, Nov 8: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) will implement reform measures suggested by the Japan International Cooperation Agency's adviser to the commission, Miharu Kajita.
In a briefing held here on Monday, the HEC chairman, Dr Attaur Rahman, said most of the recommendations presented were being implemented. He said the HEC was determined to play a role of a catalyst to bring about changes in the mindset of the young generation through its various schemes tied up with universities having a strong science and technology faculty and department.
On the occasion, the Japanese expert observed that under the current system of higher education, the number of compulsory subjects and credits indispensable for graduation were fixed.
He also suggested that every university should organize a festival every year to encourage social linkages.
