KARACHI: KWSB staff seeks protection

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Nov 8: Water supply in Landhi, Korangi and Shah Faisal towns has been affected badly owing to alleged interference by some anti-social elements.

According to a KWSB official, these people are extending threats to the staff at the Future Colony pumping station and have also stolen scrap.

The official has demanded immediate arrest of the culprits who frequently visit pumping station.

In a letter, the KWSB's executive engineer, Shabbir Ahmed, stated that some anti- social elements often carrying arms come to the pumping station and threaten staff.

Meanwhile, residents Baghdadi, D.D. Chaudhry Road, Bismillah Colony and Lyari Telephone Exchange are without water for the last three months.

The office-bearers of the Mohallah Committee have demanded of the KWSB MD to order an inquiry against the officials responsible for suspension of water supply even during Ramazan.
