Increased interaction stressed: ICCI, PHDCCI sign MoU

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Nov 7: The Islamabad Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and Punjab Haryana Delhi Chamber of Commerce and Industry have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to streamline trade-related flow of information and encourage periodic interaction between the business communities in India and Pakistan.

The MoU was signed by ICCI President Tariq Sadiq and Indian chamber president Ravi Wig here on Sunday.

Former ICCI president Mian Ikram Farid said the MoU would help increase bilateral trade between the two countries. He said chambers of both India and Pakistan could now exhibit their products in each other's countries.

The Indian chamber president said the quality of Pakistani products was on a par with that of international market products. He said their delegation had shown keen interest in Pakistani products available in the markets.

"Our wives have bought a lot of products. This shows the quality of products which are much better," he said.

Mr Wig was leading a 24-member delegation comprising Indian businessmen. The visit aimed at holding talks with Pakistani authorities to explore markets for their products.
