Regional camps from 20th

Published November 6, 2004

KARACHI, Nov 5: Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) will hold regional training camps in all the major cities of the country including Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta from Nov 20.

Under the first phase, camps will be held for a period of three months under the supervision of director Coaches Jamshed Gul as part of PSF's long-term plan to prevent game's decline and revive past glory.

The players who will come through the first phase will be short listed for further extensive training under national players. Boys of not more than 12 to 15 years of age will be inducted in the camps, which will have about 10 to 12 coaches to impart training.

In its glory days, Pakistan's three to four players would occupy the top of world rankings but today there is nobody even among the top 20. Pakistan's No 1 Mansoor Zaman is currently placed at world No 26th. -PPI
