Malik for Australia

Published November 6, 2004

LAHORE, Nov 5: The three-member advisory committee of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on bowling has recommended sending off-spinner Shoaib Malik to Australia for a technical advise on his bowling action.

The committee comprising Aaqib Javed, Iqbal Sikandar and Ijaz Faqih had a look on Shoaib's bowling action on Friday and also watched video footage and the International Cricket Council (ICC)'s report on bowler's action.

The committee concluded there was not any big problem with the bowling action of Shoaib, but it was better to send him to Australia to make it 100 percent correct. Shoaib's action had been declared suspect by two umpires Simon Taufel (Australia) and Aleem Dar (Pakistan) during the three-nation one-day tournament played in Pakistan in Sept-Oct this year involving Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka.
