Hearing of trial put off


KARACHI, Nov 5: An anti-terrorism court in Karachi on Friday adjourned the hearing in a the double murder case against Amir Khan , general secretary of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement Haqiqi and others on a request of the defence counsel.

ATC Judge Feroz Mehmood Bhatti, who is conducting trial in central jail Karachi, fixed Nov 10 for the next hearing. Special public prosecutor Iqtidar Ali Hashmi is representing the state.

MQM's general secretary and its activist Mohammad Tariq are being tried on charge of killing two activists of MQM on June 23, 2003. According to prosecution, an FIR was lodged at Landhi police station in which it was alleged that Amir Khan, with others killed two Muttahida activists, Muhammad Naeem and Anam Uzair, in by-elections of NA-255.
