MULTAN, Nov 5: The chief minister has allotted 1.5 acres for setting up an independent burn centre under the auspices of Nishtar Hospital here. Work on the Rs100 million project would start soon, said Nishtar Medical College and Hospital Principal Executive Officer Prof Dr Shabbir Ahmad Nasir on Friday.
He said in fact work on the project would have started but due to price spiral in the building material the PC-1 for the 65-bed facility had to be revised. It would require about two months to start work on the complex, he added.
Dr Shabbir said in view of the increase in incidents of self-immolation or setting afire of women by their in-laws the chief minister allocated adequate funds and land for the purpose. The land is situated near the district jail.
