By Our Correspondent

RIYADH, Nov 4: Saudi security forces have arrested a wanted militant after a shootout in Buraiydah, some 350km north of Riyadh.

Two police officers were injured in the operation, the Saudi interior ministry announced on Thursday. The name of the extremist was not immediately made public.

"A wanted member of the deviant group opened fire leading police to return fire" in a public square in Buraiydah, central Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, a ministry spokesman said.
