KARACHI, Nov 2: A division bench of High Court of Sindh, comprising Justice Wahid Bux Brohi and Justice Rehmat Hussain Jaffery, on Tuesday issued notice to the state for Nov 12 on a bail plea filed by Dr Akmal Waheed and Dr Arshad Waheed.

Earlier, an anti-terrorism court for Karachi dismissed the bail applications filed by them on the plea that the case was in initial stages and important prosecution witnesses were yet to be examined.

It was also maintained that no prosecution witness implicated them and there is no material before the trial court sufficient for their conviction and sentence. The bench after hearing the initial arguments by the counsel for the petitioners, issued notice to the AG Sindh for Nov 12.

The adjournment came as Abdul Hafeez Pirzada, counsel for the petitioner, was on a general adjournment. The petitioner has challenged the wage award through this petition.
