KARACHI: Compensation to heirs of blast victims ordered
KARACHI, Nov 2: Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad has directed the officials concerned to make payment of compensation amount to heirs of the martyrs of blasts at Hyderi mosque and Imambargah Ali Raza till Nov 3.
Presiding over a high-level meeting on law and order, he called for joint efforts of finance and interior affairs departments as well as city government in this connection. He regretted that compensation money had not been paid to the families of all the deceased so far.
He also ordered for payment of hospitals dues which were spent on the treatment of those wounded in the blasts. Besides, he ordered that the grant announced for renovation of Imambargah Ali Raza must be released immediately.
Taking strict notice of aggravating situation at some educational institutions, the governor stressed on continuous and composite efforts to maintain law and order. In this regard, he ordered Home Minister to make arrangements for disallowing entry of outsiders in institutions.
He pledged that the government would take every possible step to ensure academic excellence and peaceful environment in educational institutions. He flayed the elements hindering academic peace and termed them enemies of the country. He said academic harmony was essential for the development of the country.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Home Minister Abdul Rauf Siddiqui, Principal Secretary Brig (retd) Akhtar Zamin, Home Secretary Brig (retd) Ghulam Muhammad Mohtaram, Finance Secretary Malik Asrar, and DCO Mir Hussein Ali. -PPI
