KARACHI, Oct 31: Sindh Chief Secretary Mohammed Aslam Sanjrani has expressed concern over repeated traffic accidents and violent reaction of people in the city.

He asked the provincial transport secretary, the provincial and regional transport authorities and traffic police officials to chalk out a plan to check traffic accidents.

Talking to a citizen's delegation, which brought the issue into his notice and also put forth certain suggestions to check accidents, the chief secretary pointed out that road accidents used to occur mainly due to carelessness of drivers and traffic police. Besides, he stressed that people should also drive with utmost care and alertness to save pedestrians.

Aslam Sanjrani said that traffic and transport departments had been directed to control such untoward situations, promote mutual liaison and induce people to drive under some code of conduct.

He further said that people should also be disciplined while walking on road. In this regard, he stressed, the social organizations too would have to play their due role.
