Altaf warns against conspiracies
By Our Reporter
KARACHI, Oct 30: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief, Altaf Hussain, has paid tributes to those who had laid their lives on Oct 31, 1986 when MQM's caravan was attacked and plunged into bloodshed.
He stated the conspiracy of exploiters and the drug mafia failed to succeed because of the resoluteness in the MQM cadre and supporters in 1986, adding that any such conspiracy would be foiled.
Meanwhile, Altaf Hussain will be the keynote speaker in the international conference to be held in New Delhi under the auspices of the Hindustan Times.
Mr Hussain's address would follow a speech by the Indian Foreign Minister, Natwar Singh. Former US foreign secretary Henry Kissinger will address after Altaf Hussain.
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, President of Sri Lanka Chanderika Kumaratunga, ex-prime minister of Britain John Major, Foreign Minister of Thailand Sarakiarut Sathathi, President of Indian ruling party Congress Sonia Gandhi, and former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah will attend the moot.
