MIRPURKHAS: Tension prevails in girls school

MIRPURKHAS, Oct 30: Tension prevailed among teachers and staff of the Rabia Basri Government Girls High School following a visit of the DO education on Saturday.

Women teachers Yasmeen Khan, Ghosia, Najma and Parveen Malik told newsmen that EDO education Haji Khan Raho and DO Mushtaque Qaimkhani forced them to tender written apology for staging a demonstration against the headmistress.

They said the officials threatened them that they would not be given their annual confidential reports and would be transferred to the far-flung areas.

They said all teachers refused to tender apology and told the officials that the headmistress was responsible for the tension.

They said they were forced to accept Rafiqa Mughal as headmistress but they could not tolerate her because she was allowing outsiders inside the school.

They said the officials threatened disconnection of school telephone and warned teachers of not to bring their mobile phones.

They demanded that the Sindh education authorities should take notice of the matter and punish headmistress.

PROCESSION: Residents of Pithoro town took out a procession here the other day, demanding early recovery of missing policeman Ibrar Malik.

Ghaseeto Malik, the father of the policeman, led the protesters who marched on the main road.They staged a demonstration outside the district and sessions court.

ROBBERY: Five armed robbers had entered the shop of cotton and chilli trader, Roop Chand Malhi, looted Rs7,7000 and injured him when he offered resistance. The trader had been admitted to the Mirpurkhas Civil Hospital.

The Khan police registered a case on the complaint of the injured against Khadim Khoso, Niaz Khoso, Hussain Khoso and two unidentified persons.
