PESHAWAR, Oct 30: Chief executive officer of the Tribal Electric Supply Company (Tesco), Hidayatullah Kundi, has said that 208 of the 236 schemes have been completed at a cost of Rs360.49 million during the last two years while the remaining 28 would soon be ready at a cost of Rs151.23 million under the Fata ADP funds

He said this at a high-level briefing held here at the Wapda House, Peshawar, presided over by Minister of State for Water and Power Engr Amir Muqam.

The Tesco officer said a plan for 46 partially electrified villages was also in the pipeline for which Rs33.737 million were required from Wapa.

The minister of state was told that construction of 10 11-kvfeeders in Fata was being completed at an estimated cost of Rs92 million.

He directed Tesco to expedite work on development schemes in Fata being initiated under MNAs and Senators funds.

Earlier, the chief executive officer told the minister that Rs39.9 million had been spent on completion of 167 uplift schemes in Fata during last two years.

The federal minister of state was informed that 67 more schemes were also being completed in Fata and Frontier Regions (FR) at an estimated cost of Rs75.88 million.

The minister regretted non-payment of electricity dues by tribesmen and said he would discuss provision of the Khasadar Force with the governor to deal with defaulters and power thieves.

The Chief Executive Officer of Tesco informed the minister of state that one new grid station had been set up in Kurram Agency, besides up-gradation, extension and conversion of four grid stations in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas at the cost of Rs396 million while five more grid stations would be upgraded in the region during this fiscal year at an estimated cost of Rs664 million.-APP
