Sangakkara deputises for Kaluwitharana

KARACHI, Oct 29: Sri Lanka took the field on the second day of the final Test against Pakistan on Friday without their regular wicket-keeper Romesh Kaluwitharana who is nursing an injured hand.

Kumar Sangakkara, who had been relieved of wicket-keeping duties to concentrate on his batting in Test matches played his country in recent series, took over behind the stumps.

According to a Sri Lankan team spokesman, Kaluwitrharana won't keep wickets during Pakistan's innings because of swelling on his right hand, legacy of a blow from a rising delivery from Abdul Razzaq during his knock of 54 on Thursday.
