KARACHI, Oct 29: The Board of Advance Studies and Research, University of Karachi in its meeting chaired by the varsity Vice Chancellor, Dr Pirzada Qasim, has approved the award of the DSc (Chemistry) degree to Prof Dr Iqbal Chaudhry, acting director HEJ.

The board also approved PhD degrees to other six students including Arshad Ali (Chemistry), Nosheen Mushtaq (Pharmaceutical Chemistry), Muhammad Azhar Saeed (Islamic Learning), Azra Perveen Azad (Geography), and Sunbal Ansar (Islamic Learning), said a KU release.

Furthermore, the board also approved the award of MS degrees to two students, including Dr Muhammad Islam Siddiqui (Orthopaedics) and Dr Syed Ahmed Majidi (Ophthalmology), while nine MPhil degrees were approved for students including Miss Hina Shaikh (Food Science and Technology), Zarina Arshad (Chemistry), Tabinda Attique (Zoology), Zubair Ahmed (Zoology), Safia Bano (Physics), Uzma Malik (Chemistry), Miss Nazish Iqbal (Physiology), Kaniz Fatima (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) and Rabia Ismail (Pharmaceutics).

Exam Forms: The University of Karachi on Friday announced the schedule for submission of examination forms and fees for external candidates of BA, BCom, BOL, BSc (improvement of division) for annual examinations 2004.

A KU notification said that exam forms and fees with late fees would be received from November 1 to 4. The total fees for BA, BCom, BOL, BSc parts I and II is Rs1,500, and for BA, BCom both parts Rs2600. Exam forms can be obtained for Rs25 from the Silver Jubilee Gate.- PPI
