HYDERABAD: Appointment of principal opposed

By Bureau

HYDERABAD, Oct 29: The parents-teachers action committee of the Government Khadija Girls' Higher Secondary School has expressed grave concern over a proposal to appoint a male principal for the school.

In a joint statement issued here on Thursday, PTAC general secretary Saleemuddin and information secretary Mohammad Idrees claimed that parents and the nazim of the relevant union council were strongly opposed to the proposal and refused to accept posting of a male principal in the girls' school.

They regretted that officials of the education department neither visited schools nor considered the proposals and suggestions of school committees. They demanded that the education minister should ensure that only female teachers were appointed in girls' schools and male teachers in boys' schools.
