3 foreigners kidnapped in Afghanistan
LONDON, Oct 28: A dual British-Irish national was one of three UN election workers kidnapped on Thursday in Afghanistan, the Irish and British foreign ministries said.
"We are confirming that it's actually Annetta Flanigan. She's an Irish citizen and bears an Irish passport," an Irish foreign ministry spokesman said.
UN officials and witnesses in Kabul said the trio were an Irish woman, a woman from the Serbian province of Kosovo and a Filipino man, who were pulled from their UN-marked car in front of a UN compound.-AFP
