India pushing Muslims into BD: Dhaka

By Our Correspondent

DHAKA, Oct 28: Bangladesh on Thursday expressed serious concern over India's recent attempts to push Bangla-speaking Indian Muslims into Bangladesh, and issued an aide-memoire to New Delhi for settling the issue immediately.

Fazlul Karim, director-general of the South Asia wing of the ministry of foreign affairs, handed the official letter to the Indian deputy high commissioner in Dhaka, Sarbajit Chakraborti, on Thursday.

When his attention was drawn to the issue, Foreign Minister M Morshed Khan said: "On behalf of the government, the Foreign Office wants to know from New Delhi why such a situation prevails across the border. We requested them to settle the issue."
