KARACHI: Irate people attack factory in Manghopir

KARACHI, Oct 26: Residents of a shanty town attacked Javedan Cement Factory in Manghopir for disconnecting power supply of their locality. Manghopir police registered a case against seven people including Mohammad Jan Afridi.

The complainant Abdul Rasheed, an official of the factory, stated in the FIR that the Mohammad Jan Afridi Goth was established by encroaching upon the land of Javedan factory. He stated that the residents living there had been using the electricity provided by Javedan factory. They did not pay their dues and reminder notices were issued to them in this regard, he added.

Abdul Rasheed stated that electricity supply was disconnected after issuance of repeated notices. After disconnection, Mohammad Jan Afridi along with other people attacked the factory and ransacked the offices inside the premises.

The police were looking for the suspects nominated in the FIR.
