KARACHI, Oct 25: Young Aftab Khan scored a match-winning 84 to help Peshawar beat Karachi Blues by four wickets in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy fixture at the Quaid-i-Azam Cricket Park on Monday.

Peshawar, who were set a target of 146, finished the game in the ninth mandatory over. Aftab had set up the win by hammering 13 fours and one six during his 85-ball knock.

Earlier, Karachi Blues added 104 to their overnight score of 25 for four. Pacer Janisar claimed four of the six wickets to fall on Monday to finish with five for 44.

International umpire Asad Rauf, who is due to officiate as TV umpire in the second Test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka from Thursday, did not take the field after lunch since he was feeling unwell.

Salim Badar, who had returned to Karachi on Sunday after standing in the Multan-Sialkot match at Multan, was asked to rush to the Steel Township to deputise for the indisposed Asad for the rest of the game.
