Timeframe urged for inclusion of Kashmiris: Indo-Pakistan dialogue

ISLAMABAD, Oct 25: The Kashmiri leadership has demanded a timeframe for inclusion of Kashmiris' representatives in the ongoing dialogue process between Pakistan and India.

The demand was made at a meeting between leader of the opposition in AJK legislative assembly, Barrister Sultan Mahmood and a delegation of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Azad Kashmir Chapter headed by General Secretary Abdullah Malik here.

Expressing satisfaction over the process, the Kashmiri leadership said the confidence building measures (CBMs) are briskly being made between the two countries.

Hence, under these circumstances, there is a need of a timeframe for inclusion of Kashmiri representatives in the dialogue process as they are main party to the Kashmir dispute, they added.

Sultan Mahmood said any resolution to Kashmir dispute could not be durable and lasting without participation of Kashmiris.

Indian leadership, he said, is not sincere in dialogue process adding, on one hand, they are talking about friendship while another, Indian troops are carrying out gross human rights violations in the occupied valley.

More than 80,000 Kashmiris men, women and children have been killed by more than 800,000 Indian troops deployed in occupied Kashmir, he added.

Mr Mahmood called on Pakistan government to take notice of Indian double standard and expose it before the world community.

Abdullah Malik said the Kashmir issue is the basic issue between India and Pakistan which has not been settled through bilateralism.

He asked the world community to help resolve the issue in accordance with the United Nations resolution and wishes of the Kashmiri people.

He said the Kashmiri leadership of both sides of Kashmir should join hands and accelerate their joint efforts at diplomatic level for resolution of Kashmir issue.

The Kashmiri leadership strongly condemned the arrests of Kashmiri leaders in occupied Kashmir and said all Indian efforts to suppress Kashmiris would fail as they have committed to continue their struggle till the grant of their right to self-determination.

They said the sacrifices rendered by Kashmiris would bear fruits and Indian subjugation would come to an end.

Abbass Rizvi, Abdul Majid Malik, Adik Mushtaq Wani, Farooq Ahmed Wani, Ghulam Nabi Mir, Ishtiaq Hameed, Khadim Hussain, Shaukat Hussain Bhat and Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah were also present.-APP
