MARDAN: MNA claims liberating 12 'slave' families

MARDAN, Oct 24: An MMA MNA and chairman of Tafheem Welfare Foundation Dr Attaur Rehman said that he had initiated several projects worth millions of rupees in his constituency with the help from some local and foreign NGOs.

Talking to newsmen during an Iftar dinner at the Madressah Tafheemul Quran here on Saturday, Dr Rehman disclosed that he had secured freedom of 12 families who had been enslaved by some landlords in Surkh Deri, Rustam Bazaar and Garyala Village.

The MNA said that he had also introduced a Ramazan food package for the poor in his constituency.

Dr Rehman said that the TWF had set up a clinic in Rustam, which was later handed over to Al Khidmat Foundation which was administering it now. He also said that another hospital was being constructed near the Madressah Tafheemul Quran.
